Tips For Watercraft Operators:

Obey The Signs!

If you are visiting Florida's waterways chances are you'll see these signs. These regulatory signs are important, please obey them and help save the manatee. Besides, it's the law!

Manatee Safety Rules:

Wear polarized sunglasses & lookout for manatees
Stay in deep channels
Obey posted speed zone signs
Keep away from posted manatee sanctuaries
Recycle or throw your litter in a proper container
Discard fishing line and hooks properly
Stay at least 50 feet away from any manatees you site
Do not feed or provide water to manatees
Do not touch or approach manatees
Do observe quietly at a safe distance
